Echinacea
‘Double Decker’ – Coneflower
First year plants may produce single flowers. From the second year on a high percentage of two-tiered deep rose flowers appear with either a single or double set of petals. They are drought tolerant and will bloom better in sunny areas.

Echinacea
‘ Harvest Moon’ – Coneflower
A big (4”) fragrant flower head with a combination of golden yellow petals surrounds a cone of golden orange. Hardy and vigorous, it will produce up to 30 blooms once established. It thrives in average soil and dry hot conditions and shrugs off the cold. It also provides nourishment for birds once the seeds mature. It is ideal for bouquets.

Echinacea
‘Kim’s Knee High’ – Coneflower
A dwarf version of the well-known purple coneflower, with re-curved ray petals and large bronzy central cones atop these knee high plants with sturdy stems. It grows slowly and will re-bloom if spent blooms are removed. Some spent blooms need to be left on for seeds for birds. Once established they are quite drought tolerant.

Eupatorium
purpureum maculatum ‘Gateway’- Joe-Pye-Weed
Joe-Pye-Weeds are bold architectural specimen plants. Plants form a clump of coarse green leaves, bearing enormous umbrella-like heads of rosy-purple flowers in late summer. This particular one does not grow as tall as some, but still gets large and impressive. It is a magnet to butterflies and is also suitable for planting in a meadow or at waterside. Excellent for cutting.

Eupatorium
rugosum ‘Chocolate’ – Chocolate Boneset
This species is related to the Joe-Pye-Weed, not as well known. It has dark bronzy-brown leaves in spring and summer turning green when the autumn white flower clusters begin to show. Useful in shady spots and even tolerates dry shade under deciduous trees once they are established. Both flowers and foliage are good for cutting. They are attractive to butterflies. Can be divided in early spring.

Heuchera americana ‘Dale Strain’ – Coral Bells
This is a seed propagated strain selected by Dale Hendricks for its unique silver-blue marbled foliage with white flowers on long stems. It can be used as a groundcover which is drought tolerant with a beautiful foliage display. If grown in full sun it demands a lot of moisture. Divide clumps every 3-4 years.
